Street Educators, Medellin, Colombia
There is a killing in Colombia every 20 minutes, and the children who work as beggars or vendors in the streets there, often get caught up in a web of drugs, prostitution and violence that leads to death. Let the children Live! run by Father Peter Walters, a Roman Catholic priest, exists to protect the street children from these dangers and to give them love, care and education.

Caring and Sharing pays the salaries of the four ‘street educators’, three brave young men and woman, who go daily on to the streets to look for and to help these children.

Over 800 children are being helped at present in the city of Medellin. Some work on the streets but still live with their parents but many live on the streets. About 60 of them spend half of each day at Casa Walsingham, the base of Let The Children Live! Most of these children will obtain school places, but some are unable to adapt to school life.
